We're on a Boat...late!

A few weekends ago, the Smiths were camping out on an island outside of Kalama and wanted Tyler and us girls to head out and join them on Saturday. After making the boys PROMISE to have me back on land in time for work on Sunday, I decided why the hell not - an hour drive each way for 12 hours of camping? Sure!

Tyler drove out ahead of us to set up tents, while Stace and I had dinner with Kitty and packed my things. We set out around 8pm and got to the end of the route to meet the boys at the boat around 9:15. Nick had told us where to leave our cars, so we ignored the signage and parked as we were told. We bundled Blake up in his new life jacket (which he despised), and we rode in Nick's boat out to camp.

A couple hours, a beer or 2, and Blake's bedtime later, Stacey and I were sitting down by the river watching the boys fish (everyone else had gone to bed), when we saw tow truck lights near our cars. Not good. We woke Amy to keep an eye on Blake in his tent, grabbed car keys, and the 4 of us jumped in the boat and rowed across the river. There was no tow truck, but they'd left stickers on the windows that we'd be towed shortly. There was a guy and his girlfriend parked nearby (probably doing the dirty) who told us a couple places nearby we could park, so Nick took the boat down to another ramp and Tyler, Stace and I drove to move cars.

We ended up having to move the cars about 30 miles. Oops! We parked and took a very long, very old, very wet boat ride back to camp...just to turn around and have Rich take me back to my car about 7 hours later. :)

All in all, an awesome summer adventure!
